Add third-party keyboard support to iOS, it’ll be great they said. No one saw mocking SpongeBob coming, though.
It’s the middle of the week and maybe you’re looking for a way to spice up your group chat(s). Or just drive someone crazy. Well, now there’s a third-party keyboard for that! Courtesy of Semir Mezrahi, there is an app you can install on your iOS device called “sPoNGeCaSe” and it does exactly what you think it should, based on the title. This will make it so everything you type “lOoKs LiKe ThIs”, or, as the app’s description puts it, “tHe EaSiEsT wAy iN hIsToRy tO tYpE lIkE tHis”.
It costs $0.99 for the privilege to easily type like the “mocking SpongeBob” meme, which is basically all over the place. You can see it pictured at the top of this article, and used in action in one of the tweets below.
Basically, this is remarkably silly and pointless, but it’s also kind of hilarious at the same time. Being able to quickly type like this, without ever touching the “Shift” key is fun, especially if you just want to torment a group chat. And at ninety-nine cents it’s basically a cheap, fun gag.
You can find a link to the app below. And it’s already popular enough in the iOS App Store to be #5 in the Social Networking category. Apparently people are already going to town with this app. I am so glad I haven’t run into it yet.
